Business Process Automation

BPFAST LLC. can automate your business processes by creating SharePoint workflows that create and assign tasks, generate email reminders, and provide a process status view.  Business processing rules can also be included in InfoPath 2007, Access 2007 and other products below:

  • SharePoint Workflow
  • Outlook
  • InfoPath 2007
  • Access 2007
  •

    SharePoint Workflow

SharePoint Workflows can be added to almost any SharePoint List, Document Library, or Form Library. Workflow integration is one of the most powerful new features of SharePoint 2007 and may be the key to making your business processes more productive.

The first image to the left shows a standard Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007) workflow being added to a SharePoint list. The screen image presents common uses and features of a typical workflow that BPFAST LLC. can design for you.  Many workflows are focused on providing notification and getting approval for a specific step in a business process. Workflow processes normally create tasks and the results are stored in a list dedicated to workflow history.

The second image on the left shows a workflow history for one particular list item including details on a workflow process in progress and a completed process. Clicking on the process link will provide more detail about the workflow including when tasks were completed and by whom.

    Outlook Integration

Notification, letting people know that tasks require their attention or reminding them that tasks are overdue is a key part of a typical automated process.  Outlook is the primary Office 2007 tool used for communication related to an automated business process created by BPFAST LLC.  Information about active processes will also be available in other places including task lists and reports. The image to the left shows a task notification email generated by a SharePoint workflow.

    InfoPath 2007

InfoPath 2007 integrates well with SharePoint 2007 workflow capabilities.  InfoPath forms or other documents are often the focus of automated business processes as business users complete or approve key documents.  SharePoint workflows can be attached to form and document libraries so that a business process can be started from a SharePoint library.  Workflows can be initiated manually or whenever a document is changed or uploaded.  The image to the left shows how the workflow page can be accessed from the drop down menu related to one InfoPath form.

    Access 2007
BPFAST LLC. typically uses Access 2007 as a front-end for data stored in SharePoint.  Access forms and reports are linked to SharePoint lists and changes to list data in Access 2007 are reflected in SharePoint web views within seconds.  SharePoint workflows that are triggered when list items are created or modified, will also start when those lists are changed using Access 2007 linked to SharePoint.  Access 2007 can be used to create reports showing SharePoint workflow history for a business process.  The image on the left shows a sample of a SharePoint workflow history report.
